When my company decided to sponsor a 5K a few weeks ago, I decided it would be a good time to start my fitness program.
I really had not motivated myself to do anything since my third daughter Lils was born 2 years ago.
My sister-in-law, who is training for a marathon, spent 3 to 4 days lunch breaks per week for one month training me.
Day 1 - she actually made me run/walk/jog the entire 3 miles! no newbie break...
Her interval training & techniques actually helped me run the most I had ever run, 5.3 miles, by my 15th session!
I finished the race with a pace of 8:44, and I am so proud of that.
My husband ran with me, and there was a kids fun run which my two oldest enjoyed.
We all had a really great time.
